Malaga, Spain is a beautiful place to visit
If you have decided to travel to Malaga, Spain, preparing to be busy. There is so much to do in and around of this town on the Costa del Sol that never lack something to do. The climate of this area is typically Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters. The best time popular for visitors is the summer but a visit to this area is beautiful any time of year.
If you want to travel during the summer months, be sure book your flight, your hotel, your car rental well in advance. If you wait too long, the availability will be lower and you may have to pay more for what want. Rental cars are available at the airport or in the city. If you decide you do not need a car (or if you wait too long and find you can not rent one because it's summer), rent a car just to get to and from the airport.
You will have a number of attractions to visit in Malaga. One of the most interesting is the Citadel or Alcazabo. This is the greatest strength in Andalusia, built during the eighth through eleventh centuries. It is located next to the Castle of Gibralfaro, another great site. In the Citadel, there are two museums, one of them a fascinating archaeological museum. Anyone who enjoys history should make this stop.
Malaga as the oldest Spanish cities, has a castle. Your Gibralfaro Castle was built in XIV century. You can take a tour of the castle and further steeped in history. Be sure to take in the beautiful view of the city and the harbor from the ramparts of the castle. Since they are next to each other a day or an afternoon spent the Citadel and the Castle was quality.
The next stop should be the Cathedral of Malaga. The construction of this building began in 1528, but stopped and began again in the next two centuries. It was a final stop in 1783, when there were no more funds to continue, and one of the towers is not yet complete, until today. One of the most interesting things about this cathedral is that since the building went through periods of many, many different styles of architecture one sees in this building.
The Archaeological Museum of Malaga has a considerable collection of Gothic and Greek as well as the ruins of an ancient amphitheater Roman. Do not miss the Museum of Ceramics, pottery and ceramic pieces from all eras are on display here.
After you and their children have absorbed all this history and culture, it may be time to reward them with a visit to the amusement park Tivoli. This is a very popular tourist attraction, with rides for children of all ages, as well as daily shows, and botanical gardens on tour.
