When Spanish explorers first encountered hummingbirds, called Flying Jewels "flying jewels." The hummingbird was revered as a sacred healer, a guardian of the plants, the spirit, and those who needed healing or preparing for the healers themselves.
That's why the hummingbird is the symbol of Hummingbird Retreat Center.

If you are looking for a nice escape from the rush of everyday life, the Center offers the perfect vacation, is among the spectacular mountains of a landscape full of peace and tranquility, where things move at a natural pace and the pleasures of nature around you.
Besides beautiful scenery, a quiet and private, and delicious home cooking, food, a swimming pool for use a garden and a poolside bar and, for those wishing to explore the area, is close to several tourist attractions unavoidable for which will give you a taste of Real Spain.
A sunny climate and the purest European airspace
Hummingbird Retreat Centre is near a natural park virgin in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada which is a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and has many rare and unique species and the skies are classified more cleanest in Europe.
It is surrounded by magnificent mountains and olive trees which have grown over centuries, and in an ideal location for nature lovers as it can, literally out of the land and begin their discovery of the Andalusian countryside.
The climate is warm all year round. During the winter, temperatures range from average maximum of 54 degrees to lows of 36 degrees – that is warmer than London in the spring. Then when spring comes to Andalusia, temperatures climb to mid-60s with lows in the upper 40s.
Summer brings sunny days and warm nights, where the daily maximum of 87 degrees are typical: a time for sunbathing, relaxing by the pool and take it easy. Night fall at a good mid-60s and everything feels right with the world.
Like spring, autumn is a particularly beautiful time to visit. The days are cooler nights (an average of 70 degrees) and are a perfect 50.
RENT TO OWN YOUR HUMMINGBIRD WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS
Hummingbird Retreat Centre is also available for rent by the curators and teachers and for small groups who want to "get away from everything and enjoy the relaxing, healing and retreat. It is an ideal place for yoga, tai chi, meditation, dance, holistic therapies and other courses as well as for the celebration and renewal.
