Driving Tour Andalucia

By car from Madrid to Andalusia after-Atlantic flight trans.?
Hello, We are writing to enjoy the Christmas holidays in Andalucia. It is $ 1,000 cheaper for two people to fly to Madrid to Toronto to Malaga at Christmas. I think it is about 350 km from Madrid to Jaen … a little more to Cordoba. Rental cars are quite cheap in Spain, I've found. So I guess we'll do our 12-hour flight, landing in Madrid, take a cab (with reservation) and just. A) Are there villages nice to be on the road to Jaen? would be nice to go 45 minutes south-west and then stop and sleep. b) Is the road from Madrid to Jaen good? Like 110 kmh or less? C) Would you recommend Córdoba and Jaén for the first "base" in Andalusia (we to be touring Seville and Granada and Ronda after 2 weeks also) Thanks!
I can drive this route in the opposite direction at least once a year … You have a good plan … Rent your car and start driving south. About half an hour's drive south of Madrid who have Aranjuez and Toledo, both cities are very interesting historically. Aranjuez has a beautiful palace worthy of a morning to visit before proceeding with Andalusia and Toledo, where the whole town is monumental. In general, unit-IV road N: Madrid-Jaén-Granada-Málaga. The road south through Cordoba used to be only 2 lanes for more than half of the route, but now has just opened the following the last addition of 4 lanes … There is only one section under construction and only 24 kms. Roads are "highways" no toll roads, and the speed limit is 120 km. (100 kms. If it is raining). If heading to Seville on the road to Cordoba, Granada if you take the road of Jaén. Jaen-Madrid is 335 kms., (about 3 hour drive) 400 km Madrid-Córdoba. (Slightly less than 4 hours), Madrid-Granada 434kms. Madrid-Sevilla and 538 kms. On his way to the south has several cities that could stop sleeping, if you think you can handle a little further … you can go to Manzanares. They have a 3 star hotel "El Cruce" only to the right of the road, and have a Parador Manzanares (the government run hotels, 4 stars, excellent quality). Once in Cordoba Andalusia would as the first stop (and if not too tired I drive all the way to Cordoba is not really that far) (Jaén is not the most interesting city in southern Spain). Then on to Seville. From there to Jerez de La Frontera (if you have time) and then to Ronda. If you are not interested in the coast (Marbella, Fuengirola, Málaga, etc) Then take the inner road from Ronda to Malaga Coin curves. Then has less to Malaga to Granada. (If you go all the way to Cordoba as the first installment, we could stop, either in Aranjuez and Toledo on his way back to Madrid from Granada) I have a nephew who had this route in July. flying to Madrid from Philadelphia. Whichever route you choose, I wish you a good trip! And I hope you have good luck with the weather. Andalusia has the best winters in Europe, but we do have a little rain!
