About Mojacar in Spain
Mojácar is an attractive Moorish city in Spain, situated on the Costa de Almeria. It is the tourist center largest and most favored nation in South East Spain. Mojácar has 2 main areas Mojácar Pueblo (Pueblo) and Mojacar Playa (Beach). Each area offers something different and is about 2 miles away.
Mojacar Pueblo is undoubtedly one of the most romantic and picturesque cities in Spain. With its white houses and cobbled streets atop a hill overlooking the Mediterranean, it is easy to see why this virgin Moorish fortress town has been popular among artists and writers alike. Visit the fortified Renaissance church of Santa Maria, Mojacar the 15th century Castle and the remains of the "Gateway City" (Gates City) to experience the historical side of Mojácar. A law passed in 1987 ensures that Arab architecture, which creates the feeling of being on the African continent, more than in southern Europe, is protected. Every summer, a spectacular Moors and Christians' festival honors the city's Arab descent.
Mojacar Beach is just 2 km away and is a modern-day vacation with 5 kilometers of beaches bordered by lively restaurants, bars and cafes. Fortunately well observed the laws have prevented the construction of high rise concrete development unlike other parts of Spain. There are Golf courses close to many Mojacar, including Marina, Golf Aguilar, Playa Macenas, Desert Springs, Cortijo Grande and Valle del Este Golf Resort. Macenas Beach opened in 2008 and is the golf course sophisticated, Andalusia. The resort covers a total of 140 hectares and has a mile of coastline, the only new resource in the region to do so. Gable was also opened in 2008. It is located between the foothills of the Sierra Gable and Pulpí Bay, 25 kilometers of Mojacar, close the beautiful resort of San Juan de Los Terreros. The Valle del Este Golf Resort is one of the fields of southern Spain's most prestigious golf. The resort facilities include shops, restaurants, golf, tennis, pools, banks together with all the best hotel Valley East.
