Day trips can often be budget budget savers instead of automatic. Depending where you want to go and the amount to invest (or spend), it is possible to make a day trip with a very tight budget – and you may also spend less if you were around in the pool for a day! The following are just three day trips possible recommended for people who stay around Jerez.
Arcos de la Frontera
Possibly one of Spain, most dramatically located and beautiful pueblos blancos (white villages), Arcos de la Frontera is built along the edge of a sheer cliff overlooking the Guadalete river below. Only 30 km from Jerez, Arcos de la Frontera is well worth visiting – Larger than other white villages of Andalucia, but with the same fairytale charm and quiet atmosphere of the old world. The labyrinth of winding streets Old Town provide a charming contrast to the new city more lively. The town center is traffic free (be prepared to leave your rental car and walk about ½ mile), houses are sparkling white, the streets are clean, and the views from the cliff top are truly outstanding.
The city is the attraction rather than a building or a monument – explore the twisting alleys, visit the Moorish Castle, and a coffee in the Plaza del Cabildo (Main Square people) before a trip to the point of view of the city to see the wonderful views towards Morocco. No need to spend much on this trip one day, with the only cost is real food or drink, you can buy cheap in some of the city restaurants and cafes. A delicious and budget-friendly day trip.
Seville
Driving from Jerez to Seville will take between one and two hours depending on traffic. Sevilla is a wonderful city. Colorful, vibrant and full of all the stereotypes typical Spanish you can imagine, Seville is a heady mix of fiestas and flamenco, tapas and bullfights, sangria and a nap …
Sevilla Drive for a day to explore its many ancient sites, parks, museums, art galleries, activities and attractions. Do not miss the Cathedral de Sevilla / Giralda, Bridge Triana, or the Alcazar. There is a theme park here called Isla Magica, which offers some high-octane emotion for the daredevils among you.
For food, if you are dining on a budget or looking to eat cheap (or even if it is, in fact), go for tapas. Sevilla is known as the City who invented the low cost Spanish snack, and there is great choice and great value in the many cheap tapas bars throughout Seville.

Visit Miramar Gardens through a magnificent view of the coast of Morocco, and if you are feeling particularly adventurous you can take the ferry to Tangier from Tarifa. It is quite cheap, and you will pay less for slower boats, however we recommend splashing out and getting the fast ferry, which is still cheap enough to satisfy even those with a budget.
